Are Dental Implants Right for You?

Maybe you’re tired of having a gap or two in your smile after having to get teeth pulled due to decay or injury. Or perhaps you’ve had dentures for a while now, but have gotten sick of them always slipping and sliding around when you’re just trying to live your life. Whatever the case may be, dental implants can help. These biocompatible titanium posts perfectly mimic the roots of your lost teeth. They are then topped with a prosthetic tooth or teeth so lifelike that no one but your implant dentist will be able to tell they’re not your natural pearly whites! In today’s post, we go into a little more detail on how exactly implants can help you, no matter how big the gap in your grin.

Missing a Single Tooth

Many people choose to replace a single missing tooth with a dental bridge. Unfortunately, bridgework requires that the remaining teeth on either side of your gap be filed down to accommodate dental crowns. On the bright side, none of your natural teeth need to be altered to place a dental implant. Your implant dentist can simply place a single implant in the space in your mouth and top it with a realistic dental crown.

Missing Several Teeth

Normally, if someone is missing multiple teeth, they elect to replace them with a bridge or partial denture. However, these options don’t address the root of the problem: the jawbone loss that comes with not replacing the roots of lost teeth. Your dentist has a solution for this. They can place an implant on either end of the gap in your grin with as many artificial teeth in between the fill the space.

Missing All Your Teeth

If you’re missing all your teeth and are fed up with your denture moving out of place, it might be time to consider implant-retained dentures. By placing two to six implants throughout your jawbone, your dentist can provide enough support for a full or partial denture. This prosthesis can then be permanent or removable, depending on your personal preference. Implant-retained dentures stimulate your jawbone, preventing the bone deterioration that comes as a result of prolonged, advanced tooth loss.

No matter how many teeth you’re missing, there is a way that dental implants can help. If you’re sick of having gaps in your grin, ask your implant dentist about your options today!

I've been coming to this practice for years now since moving to the Raleigh area. The office is always clean and organized and the staff have always been friendly and communicative. Also, the TV's mounted to the ceiling are a nice touch! I've been seeing Dr. Laster for several years before our insurance changed causing me to change to Dr. Rensch. Both are so easy to talk to and always made me feel at ease.

From beginning to end 5/5! I thought I was experiencing a dental 911. I submitted an inquiry at 11:30pm and by 8am the next morning, Deidra (front office staff) was already leaving me a message. She was so sweet and patient at 8am lol. After our initial conversation, I informed all follow up dentists “I found my dentist office” but thank you so much! Today I was welcomed with the same energy from Diedre to Britany then finally Dr.Wrench. The music playing throughout the office was fantastic; ie music selection and volume. The TV’s on the ceiling and wall made my procedure so painless and enjoyable! I watched an entire Christmas movie lol! Dr. Wrench (apologies for spelling) made my teeth absolutely perfect! I left telling my friends and family I have a million dollar smile! 😊 I can tell he wanted them perfect and he did! Thank you all so much for being amazing! Sincerely, Your next patient.

Dr. Laster and Dr. Rensch go above and beyond for their patients. I have seen both for various treatments and I always feel comfortable and heard. They take time to listen and to talk with you. They explain your options and work with you to develop the best plan for your care. They are always upbeat and positive and you can tell they truly love what they do. The front desk staff is exceptional as well. Deidre is so caring and very sweet. She’s efficient, understanding and conscientious of your time. I highly recommend.

Connections Dentistry was great! The staff is so friendly and truly cares about their patients. My appointment was quick, and honestly the best dental experience I’ve had. They are great about offering helpful solutions without making you feel like you are being reprimanded… which was the reason I was putting off the dentist. 100% recommend!
