Fast Relief for Troublesome Teeth

Because the wisdom teeth are usually the very last to come in (appearing around the late teens or early twenties), there isn’t a lot of room for them in the mouth, and this often causes them to become stuck, or impacted. This can lead to pain towards the back of the jaw, put pressure on the surrounding teeth, and it can even create a flap in the gums that traps food and increases the risk for cavities. In most cases, the best solution is to simply remove these teeth, which Dr. Brandon Rensch or Dr. Christine Laster at Connection Dentistry is more than happy to do. Thanks to them, families in Raleigh can get the specialty care they need without the inconvenience or expense of visiting an outside specialist.

If you’re experiencing jaw discomfort, swelling, or ongoing pressure from late-erupting teeth, timely treatment can protect surrounding teeth and prevent future complications. For gentle, efficient wisdom tooth extractions in Raleigh, our team offers advanced care focused on your comfort and peace of mind.

What to Expect From a Wisdom Tooth Extraction

What to Expect From a Wisdom Tooth Extraction

If someone believes that they or their child is experiencing problems due to the wisdom teeth, the first thing we’ll do is give them an exam. If we confirm that the wisdom teeth are indeed the issue and need to come out, the procedure will take the following steps:

  • The area around a tooth will be numbed with local anesthetic
  • A small incision is made in the gums to allow for easier access to the tooth
  • The tooth is then removed, usually in pieces
  • The treatment site is closed using self-dissolving sutures

Afterward, a patient will experience a little soreness and swelling, but this will likely go away after a few days. Within a week or so, they should be able to resume their normal routine and diet.

I've been coming to this practice for years now since moving to the Raleigh area. The office is always clean and organized and the staff have always been friendly and communicative. Also, the TV's mounted to the ceiling are a nice touch! I've been seeing Dr. Laster for several years before our insurance changed causing me to change to Dr. Rensch. Both are so easy to talk to and always made me feel at ease.

From beginning to end 5/5! I thought I was experiencing a dental 911. I submitted an inquiry at 11:30pm and by 8am the next morning, Deidra (front office staff) was already leaving me a message. She was so sweet and patient at 8am lol. After our initial conversation, I informed all follow up dentists “I found my dentist office” but thank you so much! Today I was welcomed with the same energy from Diedre to Britany then finally Dr.Wrench. The music playing throughout the office was fantastic; ie music selection and volume. The TV’s on the ceiling and wall made my procedure so painless and enjoyable! I watched an entire Christmas movie lol! Dr. Wrench (apologies for spelling) made my teeth absolutely perfect! I left telling my friends and family I have a million dollar smile! 😊 I can tell he wanted them perfect and he did! Thank you all so much for being amazing! Sincerely, Your next patient.

Dr. Laster and Dr. Rensch go above and beyond for their patients. I have seen both for various treatments and I always feel comfortable and heard. They take time to listen and to talk with you. They explain your options and work with you to develop the best plan for your care. They are always upbeat and positive and you can tell they truly love what they do. The front desk staff is exceptional as well. Deidre is so caring and very sweet. She’s efficient, understanding and conscientious of your time. I highly recommend.
